The 4th annual Taste of Wisconsin Dells did not start off with the best of weather, despite the fact that the fest is held in early June. Temperatures hit below 50F, with the wind and rain making things seem even colder.
Re-discover your slow-cooker. There are so many delicious meals you can make in a slow-cooker for days that are hectic or you are on the go. Start the meal in the morning, turn it on when you leave the house and put cooking out of your mind. When you walk back in the door and smell the aroma of "someone preparing your supper", it will change the course of the evening to one that is relaxing.
Where did the $41 dollars come in? $9 at the aforementioned Dollar Tree. $7 admission, don't ask me, I guess Prince Tim, Prince Matthew and I were considered grownups.
College kids gain on average about ten pounds the first year. Dorm food is not always the healthiest and college kids don't always eat on a normal schedule with their classes and study habits. How convenient for a college kid to have a slow cooker pork ribs crock pot in their dorm.
In the Keys, barbeque beans have a rival, black beans and rice. So for the taste testing, Jack had the BBQ beans and Tony tasted the black beans and rice. Before we move onto the meat of this review, let's explained BBQ beans. Unlike baked beans, BBQ beans include chucks of tender barbeque pork, barbeque sauce and a secret ingredient that I can't tell you.
This months festival proves why it is such a success. Great food including Miracle bbq ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs, gyros and much more. Vendors selling all different types of things, many handmade and unique. All of this, with the backdrop of the Indian River. Enjoy the music while watching the sunset!
Buy and prewash fruits that you can eat with one hand such as apples, peaches plums, pears, grapes, and berries. Avoid fruits that you have to peel. If you prewash them you can just grab them from the slow cooker pork ribs fridge at a moment's notice.
Best: A microwave is your best option. By installing a voltage inverter of a large enough size to handle a microwave, you can have a good hot meal in a matter of minutes. This won't cost you a fortune either. A 1500 watt inverter (changes 12vdc to 110vac) will probably cost you a couple hundred dollars. And a microwave is as cheap as $39.95. You'll find plenty of use for that inverter besides ribs on the grill, nothing like having 110ac available when making repairs on the truck. If you want to make a good breakfast, a portable hot plate and frying pan will be the ticket for your next batch of eggs and bacon. A little popcorn at the next rest stop?
It is nice to find a restaurant with consistent great food and consistent great service. I highly recommend Porky's Bar-BQ to anyone visiting Branson. I know I will be back in December. I even asked to make sure they don't close for the off season. The waitress said they will probably close January and February but they will be open in December.
